CIRCA 1740, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK TO INTERIOR, THE DRESDEN MOUNTS CONTEMPORARY
The ozier-moulded ground painted with scattered insects, flower-sprays and bouquets and reserved on each side with quatrefoil vignettes, one with figures by a port, the other with a gallant and companion in a wooded landscape, within brown-line and gilt band cartouches, the base with a bouquet, the cover similarly decorated, the top with figures in a mountainous wooded landscape, the hinged reeded mounts with a clasp at one side (minute areas of wear to cartouches)
