2o (620 x 347 mm). Engraved title and 24 engraved maps, mostly folding, including one hand-colored table (some browning and staining, a few tears, some with old repairs). Later vellum (defective). Provenance: Herbert Clairborne Pell (bookplate).
The maps (dated 1751-99), mostly by Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703-72). They are engraved by order of M. de Machault, and carry an engraved seal of the "Depot de la marine." This composite atlas includes several American subjects.
