FIRST EDITION of nos. 1-4 (all published) of the literary periodical of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood with the date "May" of the fourth part uncorrected. Edited by William Michael Rossetti, with contributions by Dante and Christina Rossetti, F. Madox Brown, Thomas Woolner and others, the title refers to the Pre-Raphaelite belief in the importance of nature and the human imagination. The title was altered for the last two parts and reads Art and Poetry: Being Thoughts toward Nature Conducted principally by Artists. (4)
