Later French edition of Godwin's The Man in the Moone, a travel narrative presented through the fictitious narrator Domingo Gonsales. Published posthumously, Godwin's work is one of the earliest science fiction novels and discusses the theories of Copernicus, as well as the gravitational pull of the earth and the moon. A manuscript note on the front blank of this copy attributes the French translation to F. Baudoin. Bleiler Revised, 1978, p. 83.
