2o (302 x 211 mm). Engraved title incorporating a portrait of the author at bottom, framed by Sts. Michael and Theodore holding the Doge's crown, 8 double-page or folding etched plates, and 38 illustrations in text (8 double-page), large printer's device at end (engraved title and first 2 leaves trimmed along lower blank margin, some browning and staining). Contemporary Venetian mottled sheep profusely gilt, on sides multiple roll-tooled borders, floral and leafy hand-tools shaping irregularly compartments with semés of pointillé tools or tiny quarter-foil, the inner most field with the Venetian arms on upper cover and the Cantarini (?) arms on lower, spine in six compartment, second with red morocco lettering piece (some rubbing to spine ends and edges).
