FIRST EDITION IN LATIN. "This part contains an account of the voyages of Ulrich Schmidel to Brasil and Paraguay in 1535-1553. He is one of the first who wrote about that part of America. The narrative was originally written in German by Schmidel himself and published for the first time in 1597 in Part VII of the German Edition." Alden and Landis 599/21; Church 161; Sabin 8784.

Relates considerably to Buenos Aires, with pp.6-8 being a description of the city. Sabin notes of Thevenot's work: "The American interest lies chiefly in the fourth part, first published in 1672.
