The moulded arched hood with pierced sound frets to the frieze and sides surmounted by gilt wood figural finials, the hood with pilasters headed by brass Corinthian capitals above an arched trunk door with glazed lenticle and gilt brass mount, the case with canted angles, the later bombé plinth on claw-and-ball feet, the brass dial with cast floral spandrels centred by female masks, the arcaded silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, the brass matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring centred by a date aperture, with cartouche engraving, conforming engraving around sectors for month with zodiacal symbol and figure and day with zodiacal symbol with figure and silvered plaque inscribed CORNELIS ROMEYN ROTTERDAM, with silvered arche above the painted rolling moonphase for selection of twelve tunes, the five pillar movement with anchor escapement, Dutch strike with two bells, the musical train with twenty-six hammers on fifteen bells, 32.5 cm. long pinned barrel; three large weights, pendulum and cranck key
