The first with a bowl formed as a crouching dove with spread wings, the terminal with a bird attending to a nest, marked on reverse; the second a sugar spoon, Bird's Nest pattern, with a gilt bowl, the reverse of bowl engraved Palmer, marked on reverse of bowl
The first 10¼ in. long, the second 5¾ in. long; 3 oz. 10 dwt. (2)

The serving spoon is attributed to Whiting based on a set of marked servers of the same bird's-nest pattern, sold at Christie's, May 28, 1987, lot 34. The bowl, formed as a crouching dove with spread wings, is also found on a server in the Sam Wagstaff Collection, sold at Christie's, January 20, 1989, lot 77.
