Comprising: a centerpiece bowl, nut scoop, and four picks; the bowl circular, the two C-scroll handles with squirrels holding nuts, the body engraved with a monogram; the scoop with a gilt bowl, the handle formed as a tree branch with a squirrel finial; the four picks with handles formed as branches and squirrel finials, each marked on reverse
The centerpiece 11 in. long over handles, the scoop 11¾ in. long, the picks 4 7/8 in. long; 39 oz. (6)
Lot Essay
A complete nut service, comprising bowl, scoop and picks is rare. Two Gorham silver nut bowls sold at Christie's New York, 18-19 January 2001, lots 303 and 304.
