Lot Essay

The combination of meandering vine and floral rosettes border and pictorial scenic panel of a house set in a landscape bears stylistic resemblance to several works found in the New Jersey region, particulary those of Burlington County. For further discussion and examples see Betty Ring, Girlhood Embroidery, (New York, 1993), pp. 481-483.
