A study, with minor differences, for Carlone's fresco on the ceiling of the Ahnengalerie at Schloss Ludwigsburg, painted for Eberhard-Ludwig, Duke of Württemberg, in 1730-33 (P.O. Krückmann, Carlo Carlone, 1686-1775, Der Ansbacher Auftrag, exhib. cat., Residenz Ansbach, 1990, fig. 165). A modello for the fresco is in the Staatsgalerie, Stuttgart (P.O. Krückmann, op. cit., no. 13, fig. 164).
