Lot Essay

This chandelier follows the famous model attributed to Andre-Charles Boulle and dated around 1720, examples of which can be found in the Louvre, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Royal Palace in Stockholm and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (F.J.B. Watson, 'The Wrightsman Collection', New York, 1966, vol.II, cat.177).
