the first, a Hupa maidens's cap, with four encircling linear bands of maidenhair fern; the second, a Klamath maiden's cap, with a band of geometric motifs in bear grass; the third, a Yurok bowl, the rounded sides with half-twist overlay design, consisting of three large-scale serrated devices in bear grass and maidenhair fern; the fourth, a lidded basket, of usual form, woven of bear grass and maidenhair fern, with half-twist overlay design of serrated elements encircling the body, similar elements on the fitted lid, knob handle
Diameters: the first and second, 7¼ in. (18.5 cm.) each; the third and fourth, 6¼ in. (15.9 cm.) each (4)
