THREE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA TWINED BASKETRY ITEMS
the first, a Hupa polychrome maiden's cap, of usual form, woven of bear grass and maidenhair fern, with three pairs of dark serrations against a light ground; the second, a mush bowl, of rounded form, woven of typical materials and decorated with an encircling stepped band; the third, a polychrome basket with handle, of slightly compressed form, woven of typical materials, decorated with a lattice pattern circumscribing the body
Diameters: the first, 7 in. (17.8 cm.); the second, 7¼ in. (18.4 cm.); the third, 5½ in. (14 cm.) (3)
