Château Ausone--Vintage 1982
Saint-Emilion, 1er grand cru classé (A)
Slightly stained labels. Levels: seven base of neck, two top shoulder
Tasting Note: An impressive magnum, full of fruit, tasting of 'autumn leaves and brown paper' (which is how I recognise Ausone) at Kaplan's '82s dinner (1997); delicious, drinking well (New York, later the same year). Most recently, also in New York, very attractive. Last tasted May 1999 **** M.B.
