French-fashioned 'cabriolet' chairs, likely to have been supplied by Thomas Chippendale, with medallion backs harmonise here with Saltram's light 'antique' architecture introduced around 1770.

The triangular open pediment with brass urn-finial above a glazed door enclosing an engraved panel with thermometer and barometer scale, above a diagonally-veneered shaft and domed reservoir centred by a bone roundel, the scale signed 'Campione OXFORD'
