The antiquarian Thomas Hope (d. 1831 ), promoted the fashion in his London house guide, Household Furniture and Interior Decoration, 1807. Grecian and antique vases and urns were displayed in vase rooms at both his London mansion and Surrey villa, and some of them also featured in Henry Moses's furniture pattern books entitled A Collection of Antique Vases, Paterae, Tripods, Candelabra, Sarcophagi etc., 1814.
