Rectangular and on four bun feet, with a gadrooned border, fitted with a pen-holder and single inkwell with gadrooned borders, the hinged cover engraved with an inscription, marked underneath, inside cover and on pen rest, the base further stamped 'Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company 112 Regent Street. W.'

The inscription reads 'Presented to their Squadron Leader by All Ranks of "C" Squadron 16th 5th Lancers on the occasion of his Marriage 6.XI.35'
