Circular, the detachable cover set with a gilt-metal medallion depicting Emperor Napoleon of France, together with second wife, Empress Marie Louise, daughter of Emperor Francis I of Austria, and their son Napoleon II, King of Rome, the inside tortoiseshell lined, with a note written in an unknown hand 'Mulberry wood box with portait of Napoleon, his wife + son'
