TWO CUT-GLASS DESK SEALS
APPARENTLY UNMARKED, 19TH CENTURY
Each tapering facetted, the matrix of one cut with a coat-of-arms, the handle later engraved with a cypher below a Royal Princess' coronet, the other cut with accolé arms, each below a coronet
2 7/8 in. (73 mm.) long and smaller
The arms on the first are those of Schleswig-Holstein, presumably for Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein (1831-1917), the later cypher is that of Princess Marie-Louise of Schleswig-Holstein (1872-1956).
The arms on the second are those of Anhalt accolé with those of Schleswig-Holstein for Prince Aribert of Anhalt (1864-1933) and his wife Princess Marie-Louise of Schleswig-Holstein (1872-1956), youngest child of Prince Christian Schleswig-Holstein (1831-1917) and his wife Princess Helena, (1846-1926) 3rd daughter of Queen Victoria.
