Each shaped rectangular and with a gadrooned border, the domed cover with similar borders and detachable gadrooned vine handle, the cover engraved with initials 'CH', within a garter and below a coronet, all above an inscription, each marked on the side, on cover and on handle, the bases further stamped 'Dyson & Sons Windsor'

The inscription on one dish reads 'From Windsor, Eton and Neighbourhood, To Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein on the occasion of their Silver Wedding (5th July 1891)' the others each engraved 'From Windsor, Eton and Neighbourhood 5th July 1891' (4)

Provenance
Presented to Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein and his Princess Helena (1846-1923), 3rd daughter of Queen Victoria, on the occasion of their silvver wedding anniversary on 31 July 1891.
