The spoons and forks of Old English pattern, each engraved with a crest, comprising, twenty-four dessert-spoons together with twenty-three dessert forks and six dessert-knives with tapering handles, fifteen various pistol-handled dessert knives and three blades with fragmentary handles, all fitted case, with a card printed with the Royal Arms above the legend 'Buckingham Palace' inscribed by Queen Mary 'Set of 24 silver gilt spoons + forks + Dresden china handled kinves - given to the Queen by Mrs. Meyer Sassoon Octr 1933. 1 fork missing', marked on spoon and fork handles, the knife-mounts unmarked

The crest is that of Wodehouse
Provenance
Given to Queen Mary by Mrs Meyer Sassoon, widow of Mr Meyer Sassoon (1855-1924), in October 1933.
