A BERLIN PART DINNER-SERVICE
CIRCA 1775, BLUE SCEPTRE MARKS, VARIOUS IMPRESSED MARKS
Painted with bouquets of flowers and fruit and insects within gilt-band borders reserved with garlands of blue foliage, comprising:
Four lobed oval two-handled tureens and covers, the domed covers with blue and gilt cone finials and gilt acanthus terminals (one tureen broken through and restuck, one with large rim chip and further small rim chip, one with two small rim chips, one cover with hairline crack to centre, one with small rim chip, one pin from finial lacking)
A pair of two-handled shaped oval stands, with shell and scrolling foliage handles (chipping to rims)
A two-handled shaped circular tureen and cover, the tureen with shell and foliage handles, the domed cover with a similar finial and acanthus terminals
Another tureen, similar (chip to footrim)
A shaped oval serving-dish (extensive chipping to rim and footrim, wear to centre)
Two shaped square serving-dishes (one with large section broken into pieces and restuck and stapled, chipping to footrim)
Four shaped square serving-dishes, smaller
(flaking and wear to gilding, very minor scratching to enamels throughout)
