The marriage of H.R.H. Princess Helena (1846-1923), third daughter of H.M. Queen Victoria to Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein (1831-1917) took place at the Private Chapel at Windsor on 5th July 1866.

The silk leaf painted with the arms of Prince and Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein and sprays of narcissi and green pear-like berries, signed on verso 'Paris, M. Rebours,' the mother of pearl sticks carved with monogram spelling Helena, a princely coronet, the date 5th July 1866 and carved mother of pearl flowers, the guardsticks applied with carved mother of pearl flowers, 1866, in a silk covered box stamped in gold 'H' with an elector's crown

Literature
