FIRST EDITION OF THIS FOX AND HARE HUNTING CLASSIC. The author was a scholar as well as sportsman, and according to Sir Egerton Brydges could 'bag a fox in Greek, find a hare in Latin, inspect his kennels in Italian, and direct the economy of his stables in exquisite French' (see Cambridge History of English and American Literature, vol.
