Contemporary cloth-backed boards, original black label printed in gilt on upper cover (extremities rubbed). FIRST EDITION. 'Henry Alken, senior, was a first-class sportman who drew from his long experience in field and cover ... his artistic talents alone could scarcely have produced the charm with which his drawings and prints are imbued ... probably the work of no other sporting artist has been imitated as much as that of Henry Alken' (Schwerdt).
