4° (272 x 210mm). Additional etched title and 71 plates after Howitt, all hand-coloured (additional title offset onto printed title). Contemporary English red straight-grained morocco, spine gilt in compartments, sides panelled in gilt and blind, gilt edges (head and foot of spine very slightly rubbed). Provenance: James Musgrave (armorial bookplate with inscription 'Ex Thame Park') - C.F.G.R. Schwerdt (bookplate, his sale, 10 July 1939, lot 1565).

SCHWERDT COPY. Second edition with the plates numbered and bound in a different order, but still dated 1799-1800 as in the first edition. 'Another interesting series of sporting etchings covering the whole range of British field sports. The best of these are again the active hunting, coursing, shooting, hawking, fishing and racing scenes', Schwerdt I, p.252 and IV, p.48; Tooley 272 'Usually found uncoloured'.
