Folding hand-coloured frontispiece, 4 uncoloured plates, numerous illustrations, all after John Leech. (Old crease and small tears to outer margin of frontispiece, small repaired tear to O2.) Later green morocco gilt by Birdsall of Northampton, upper cover with central rectangular panel with image made up from multi-coloured onlays of morocco depicting the scene blocked in gilt on the original cloth upper cover, gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers, original cloth covers bound in at rear, gilt edges.
