CREALOCK, Henry Hope. Among the Red Deer, sketches from Nature in the Forest [and:] The Happy Hunting Grounds of Loch Luichart. London: George Hogarth Turner [c.1870s].

2 works in 1, 4° (430 x 345mm). Lithographic titles, 121 photographic reproductions, and printed captions, tipped on heavy card, one of these SIGNED 'H. Hope Crealock'. (Spotting, particularly in second work.) Contemporary dark green morocco, upper cover gilt-lettered (extremities rubbed). Provenance: shelf-label on front pastedown.

FIRST EDITION, RARE: not in Schwerdt, or the British Library; COPAC citing only the National Library of Scotland. These two works on stalking were possibly issued as portfolios, in an unspecified but small number almost certainly printed for the author. Some of Crealock's drawings were later re-used in his Deer-Stalking in the Highlands of Scotland (1892), see following lot.
