Half-title, uncoloured title vignette, with the Original watercolour (160 x 231mm.) signed 'Philip Rickman' lower right and mounted as a frontispiece, 2 coloured plates, numerous uncoloured plates and illustrations, all after Rickman. Original vellum, letttered in gilt on spine and upper cover, top edge gilt.
VERY RARE: 'Nineteen copies of this book, each containing an original signed water-colour by the artist, have been reserved for sale in the British Empire. These copies are lettered A to S.' This copy is lettered 'K' and signed in pencil by Rickman. An edition limited to 250 copies, with Rickman's signature and a remarque pencil drawing on the limitation leaf, was also published. Cf. Nissen IVB 775 (not mentioning either of the limited editions).
