'Bun', a Steiff centre seam teddy bear
with rich golden curly mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced clipped snout, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, elongated jointed shaped limbs and hump --20in. (51cm.) tall, circa 1905 (additional stitching to nose, pads recovered, small tear and hole to snout, wear to mohair around and below eyes, slight overall matting to mohair); four black and white photographs of previous owner with her daughter and 'Bun', one dated 1912, one dated 1929; four autograph letters, signed, to Mrs Yeoman, previous owner, from the late Lt. Col. 'Bob' Henderson, mentioning 'Bun' and the activities of the bear world,
...I am so glad you told me about 'Bun'. I look forward to meeting you both at the end of June or early July. You are undoubtedly an arctophilist and must be a member of 'The Teddy Bear Club' ....If a saint can be comforted by a bear, surely a sinner can be comforted by a Teddy!...I have just received a letter from Peter Bull.
