Lot Essay

The iron barque Ednyfed was built by William Doxford & Sons at Sunderland in 1882. Owned by R. Thomas of London, she was registered in Liverpool at 1,115 tons gross (1,081 net) and measured 221 feet in length with a 35 foot beam. After twenty years trading for her original owners, she disappears from record after 1903.
