maker's mark of Starr & Marcus, New York, circa 1876
with a raised and chased foot rising up to an ancanthus detail supporting the bowl with an applied and chased rim. Engraved on the body of the bowl "Eleventh Annual Regatta/Of The/Atlantic Yacht Club/June 6th 1876/"MADCAP"". Marked under base.
