A builder's half model of the S.S. Belvoir Castle
Courlay Brothers; Dundee, Scotland
the hull, carved from wood lifts with the bottom bleached and finished bright with applied stem, keel rudder post and rudder, notched for the propeller, and the topsides painted black. The decks are finished in a cream color with the deck planking and details drawn in India ink. The deck of the model is fitted with companionways, stump mast, hatches, deck structures, funnel, and ship's boat all with drawn details. The model is mounted on a mahognay backboard with a builder's plaque listing the builder, engineer and owners.
