Saint-Estèphe, 3me cru classé
Slightly corroded capsules. Grants of St. James's slip labels. Labels damp-stained and stained by remains of original tissues. Levels: three just below top, four mid/upper, four mid (one with very damaged label) and one low shoulder with signs of seepage
In original wooden case with slightly damaged lid
Tasting Note: A wide spread of notes, 22 since 1967. Surprisingly, it developed relatively quickly though, to quote myself 'like a succesful marriage, improved with age'....Now fully mature with a warm orange tinge, and a deliciously cedary flavour and good length. Last noted Feb 1994. M.B.
