Tasting Note: Five grape varieties used, Grenache uppermost - 60 First tasted blind, May 2001: opaque core, intense, velvety; peppery fruit which opened up sweetly; rich, soft, fleshy, complete. Five months later, 'thick', dense, almost port-like nose; sweet, full fruit flavour, high alcohol (circa 15, slightly figgy flavour, masked tannin, great length. A great classic in the making. Last tasted in the cellars, Oct 2001 ***** M.B.
