Tasting Note: The superb 1999 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée des Felix is a profound example of the vintage. An opaque purple color is accompanied by intense aromas of salty sea breezes intermixed with garrigue, blackberry and cherry jam, dried herbs, and Asian spices. It is exceptionally powerful as well as super-concentrated, with great purity and overall symmetry. Give it another 2-3 years of cellaring and enjoy it over the following 16-18 years. Wow!
