Lot Essay

The 'picturesque vignette' wall-lights, of a landscaped park with overgrown obelisk, rustic pillar, and bridge over a water-dripping grotto, relate to 'Girandole' patterns in Thomas Johnson's, Collection of Designs, 1758, pl. 51.
