LAST QUARTER 18TH CENTURY
Crossbanded in tulipwood, the superstructure with later pierced brass gallery and with an adjustable shelf, enclosed by a pair of oval-panelled doors, the lower part with a dummy drawer and fall, inset with a later leather writing-surface and fitted with drawers and pigeon-holes above and open compartment below, the bottom-right drawer fitted with compartments and with silver-plated ink well, with three long drawers below, on simulated rosewood-inlaid fluted tapered feet, with later handles, the top of the superstructure reveneered, restorations to feet, with a Taunton depository label stamped 'Mrs Hanco...' and painted 'N53' on the back and base
