Lot Essay

A matched pair of two-tier trolleys by Howard & Sons, one of which has an almost identical leg design to the present table, was sold anonymously Sotheby's New York, 23 October 1998, lot 401 ($25,300). Another trolley by Howard & Sons was sold in the Michael Lipitch II sale, Christie's, London, 4 October 2001, lot 127 (£12,925).
