With curved top rail and balloon shaped velvet drop-in seat on cabriole legs with shell carved knees and paw feet with castors, probably originally with a book-rest, restorations and replacements, the back legs probably replaced

Lot Essay

The compass-fronted seat with shell-enriched legs, relating to parlour chair patterns of the 1730s, is fitted with castors and accompanied by a bowed crest-rail appropriate for a reading chair.
