A REGENCY MEZZOTINT-UNDER-GLASS ENTITLED 'AN EXACT REPRESENTATION OF THE BOMBARDMENT OF FLUSHING'

Engraved with further details .. by sea on the night of the 14 aug, 1809. Commanded by Sir R. Stratchen. which surrenderd to the British Forces after 2 days severe bombardment by sea & land the whole of the Garrison are Prisoners of war amounting to 4379, with 224 pieces of cannon 2000 Barrels of Powder & an immence quantity of stores of every discription (sic). the Town his burnt to the ground in many places the Enemy has lost many Men the English lost very few./... Published by P Dawe 44 Wells Street Oxford Stree (sic) London August 28 1809, mounted in a giltwood frame, minor loss
