Captain Ronnie Wallace was successively Master and Huntsman of the Ludlow (1944-48), Teme Valley (1947-48), Cotswold (1948-52), Heythrop (1952-77) and Exmoor (from 1977) foxhounds. Obliged to spend as much time defending and promoting his sport as he did enjoying it, Wallace succeeded his friend the 10th Duke of Beaufort as the outstanding English Master of Foxhounds. He was chairman of the Masters of Foxhounds Association for more than 20 years and died as its Life President.
