THE RESULTS OF A LIFETIME'S PASSION FOR FINE WINES AND AN EXTENSIVE SEARCH FOR THE BEST OF THE BEST

The collector behind this cellar was a successful businessman and entrepreneur, generous philanthropist and keen hunter.
His collection began in earnest in the 1950s when he was able to buy a string of post-war vintages as well as a few choice wines from the 1920s. He enjoyed the finest foods and befriended André Soltner of Lutèce, who would eventually cook at his daughter's wedding accompanied by Margaux 1964!

The majority of this collection was purchased on release from Pop's Liquors and Central Liquor's in Washington DC.

This collector's main passion was Bordeaux as evidenced by the wonderful offering here, wines that he would serve with the many meals at the family home in Pennsylvania.

Removed from a temperature controlled, sub-terranean cellar by Christie's specialists.
