The hood with outset reeded columns and the trunk flanked with cluster pilasters topped with marquetry panels, above plinth with canted angles, the 14 in. square painted dial with seasonal spandrels to Roman and Arabic chapter ring with dot minute track, the centre with moonphase and arched date aperture, painted with ships of the line, Britannia and a portrait medallion of Nelson, steel hands, pinned directly to the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell, on later seatboard -- 76½ in.
