The hood with arched cresting, dentil mouldings and two panels of blind fret carving below, outset reeded columns, the trunk with further blind fret carving to the rear sides and to the canted front angles, moulded frame to the door, conforming panel to plinth raised on bracket feet, the 12 in. wide brass dial with foliate scroll spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed Rich.d Watkin/BRECON, silvered and foliate scroll engraved centre with subsidiary seconds ring and arched date aperture, blued steel hands, the arch with painted rolling moon with indication for HIGH WATER AT NEW PASSAGE, the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; dial and movement late 18th Century and associated to case, probably late 18th Century and refinished -- 91¼ in. (232 cm.) high; pendulum, two weights, crank key
