In the South German late 18th century style, the 3 in. diameter dial within a leaf-engraved frame and signed in the centre Lohner/Eychstet, the circular movement with verge escapement and front-mounted pendulum in a weighted case, driven by travelling down a steel rack affixed to an ebonised backboard with moulded top and base -- 35 in. (90 cm.) high
