The scroll-sided case with acroteria front finials, leaf and flower front mouldings, pierced sound fret to lyre-shaped rear door, with rope-twist and beaded mouldings above base raised on fluted scrolling feet, the white painted convex Roman dial signed J.W. SMITH/Gracechurch St./LONDON, blued steel moon hands, the eight day twin chain fusee movement with rectangular plates, anchor escapement, strike and trip repeat on bell, with holdfast and repeat signature to the back plate -- 23½ in.
