Lot Essay

The first-rate HMS 'Royal Albert', 131 Guns, was launched at Woolwich Dockyard on 13 May 1854 where Queen Victoria helped launch her. The ship was urgently needed in the Crimea, where she saw action against the Russian Navy in the Black Sea.
