[GOLDSMITH, Oliver (1728-1774). The Vicar of Wakefield. A Tale Supposed to be written by Himself. Salisbury: B. Collins for F. Newberry, 1766. 2 volumes, 12°. (Occasional minor discolouration). Red morocco by Rivière, spines ornately gilt in 4 compartments, gilt lettering in the other 2, single fillet round sides with infilled cornerpieces containing flower tools and pointillé work, gilt turn-ins, gilt edges, red morocco pull-off box. Provenance: The McKenna copy (sale in our King Street Rooms, 23 November 1998, lot 333.
